Paraclete Energy, a U.S. silicon-based anode material company headquartered in Chelsea, Michigan, announced on July 30th the launch of SILO Silicon™ silicon-based anode material, and plans to ship SILO Silicon™ in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company claims that the unique polymer matrix structure of its SILO Silicon™ can achieve an industry-leading silicon concentration, providing 300% energy density compared to traditional graphite anodes, with performance more than 200% higher than that of other silicon-based anode technologies in the same industry. Moreover, batteries made with SILO Silicon™ are 33% cheaper per kilowatt-hour than traditional carbon-based anode products, offering breakthrough performance and cost advantages.

Silicon-based anodes are widely regarded as representing a significant direction for the advancement of battery technology and will change the lithium-ion battery market, especially the electric vehicle (EV) battery industry. The innovative technology claimed by Paraclete Energy provides unprecedented energy density and cost-effectiveness, enabling longer driving range, faster charging speed, and reduced costs for electric vehicles.

Jeff Norris, CEO of Paraclete Energy, said that the SILO Silicon™ technology is a game-changer for the electric vehicle industry. This technology directly meets the key needs of the market, providing longer driving range, faster charging, and lower costs - all of which are important factors in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles.

Paraclete Energy is a leading silicon anode material company, focusing on the development of high-performance silicon anode materials for electric vehicles and other lithium-ion battery applications, committed to providing innovative solutions to promote the transition to sustainable energy and transportation.

Compared with competitive silicon-based anode technologies based on carbon architecture, Paraclete Energy's polymer matrix technology has breakthrough performance and cost advantages. According to research on Paraclete's SM-Silicon/3590™ nano-silicon product by the U.S. Argonne Laboratory earlier this year, Paraclete Energy's silicon-based anode material can increase the battery's charging rate from 1C to 8C and improve capacity retention. This self-healing, highly conductive, porous cross-linked nano-silicon material with a silicon content of up to 75% is key to achieving such high performance, far exceeding the ordinary silicon content of 12% in other nano-silicon materials.

Paraclete Energy states its unique SILO Silicon™ polymer matrix technology achieves energy density three times that of graphite and more than double that of other silicon anode competitors. Batteries made with SILO Silicon™ are 33% cheaper per kilowatt-hour than traditional carbon-based products. In addition, Paraclete Energy also stated that its distributed manufacturing model allows production to take place near the customer's production site or at the customer's production site, thereby further improving efficiency and reducing costs.
