On August 20th, AVATR Technology, a subsidiary of Changan Automobile, signed a "Share Transfer Agreement" with Huawei, agreeing to purchase a 10% stake in Shenzhen Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., held by Huawei, with a transaction amount of 11.5 billion yuan. Upon completion of the transaction, AVATR Technology will hold a 10% share in Yinwang, while Huawei will retain 90%. Consequently, AVATR Technology will become the first company to invest in Shenzhen Yinwang.

Shenzhen Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. was established in January of this year and was formerly known as Huawei's Car BU division. Initially, it was a wholly-owned intelligent automotive solutions company by Huawei, with a business scope covering intelligent driving solutions for automobiles, intelligent cockpits, digital platforms for smart cars, smart car clouds, AR-HUD, and intelligent car lights. In the following months, Yinwang successively registered and established multiple branches in Dongguan, Nanjing, Suzhou, Shanghai, and other places.

Based on AVATR's investment valuation of Yinwang, the overall valuation of Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. has reached 115 billion.

On the same day of this investment agreement signing, Changan Automobile also signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with Huawei. Huawei, Changan Automobile, and AVATR will upgrade their strategic cooperation in areas such as brand and ecosystem, cloud and AI technology, green energy, and industrial chain cooperation, fully leveraging the advantages of both parties to support the upgrade and development of the industry.

According to the cleantX-Energy Research, Changan Automobile has three main electric vehicle brands under its umbrella: Changan Qiyuan, Deepal, and AVATR, which sequentially cover the mainstream electric vehicle market in the price range of 100,000 to 600,000 yuan. Among them, AVATR is positioned as a high-end intelligent brand. The industry generally believes that the investment of AVATR in Yinwang will help Changan's high-end brand AVATR and mid-range Deepal brand to gain more empowerment from Huawei.

In fact, Changan Automobile has had multiple strategic cooperations with Huawei before. Currently, the two parties are working together to capture the most mainstream automotive market under 200,000 yuan, promoting high-level intelligent driving to electric vehicle products at the 200,000 yuan level, to build more intelligent cars than Tesla. On July 25th, the Deepal S07, a high-level intelligent driving vehicle model under 200,000 yuan jointly launched by Deepal and Huawei, was officially launched. In addition, the upcoming Deepal L07 will also be equipped with Huawei's Qian Kun intelligent driving system, the Deepal S05 will introduce Huawei's DLP (Digital Light Processing) headlight technology, and models such as the Deepal G318 are also expected to integrate Huawei's latest technological achievements.

Industry insiders believe that the newly established Shenzhen Yinwang, equipped with the technology and resources accumulated by Huawei's Car BU, is the first step for Huawei's intelligent car business to better serve the intelligent automotive industry. In the future, as more partners join, a technologically open platform with diversified equity will be formed. Huawei's goal is to create an open platform for electrification and intelligence participated in by the automotive industry, and to cooperate with more car companies on this open platform to explore more open and win-win new models.

In addition to Changan Automobile, Seres announced on July 28th the intention to invest in Shenzhen Yinwang, but the specific investment amount, transaction method, and transaction price need to be based on the final transaction documents signed by both parties. In addition, according to media disclosures, Dongfeng Motor and FAW Group are also promoting the matter of investing in Huawei's Car BU. Dongfeng Motor revealed in March this year that it is actively promoting the matter of taking shares in Huawei's intelligent automotive solutions business in conjunction with FAW Group.

This year, VOYAH and M-TECH under Dongfeng Motor have successively signed strategic cooperation agreements with Huawei. On August 15th, the first cooperation model between VOYAH and Huawei, the new VOYAH Dream, was officially unveiled, and the new model has thus become the first MPV in China equipped with Huawei's Qian Kun intelligent driving and HIMA cockpit.

According to the China Star Market report, Huawei currently offers three cooperation models in the field of intelligent vehicles: the first is the component model of Tier1 and Tier2; the second is the HI (Huawei Inside) model where Huawei provides a full-stack solution and the car company designs the product, and AVATR under Changan adopts the second model.

The third is the Smart Car model, that is, Huawei Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) cooperates with four companies, including Seres, Chery, BAIC, and JAC, to build cars, and has created four-brand matrix: AITO, LUXEED, STELATO, and MAEXTRO, establishing an automotive ecological alliance. Recently, with the delivery of the STELATO S9, a smart flagship sedan equipped with Huawei's ADS 3.0 intelligent driving system, on August 6, AITO, LUXEED, and STELATO models have all been launched to the market. The first model of MAEXTRO, a cooperation between HIMA and JAC, is planned to be launched in the first quarter of next year. It is positioned as a luxury model at the million-yuan level and will be equipped with new high-end configurations, including the HIMA cockpit.

According to Huawe statistics, Harmony Intelligent Mobility delivered nearly 200,000 vehicles in the first half of the year, with a cumulative delivery of 238,287 from January to July. Huawei's Car BU has been in a loss-making state in the past due to large R&D investments, but with the hot sales of models under Harmony Intelligent Mobility, it is reported that Huawei's Car BU has turned a profit in the first half of this year.

With the deepening and scaling up of Changan Automobile's product landing cooperation with Huawei, it is expected that more whole vehicle companies will join Huawei's intelligent vehicle ecosystem in the future.
