It is reported that this sodium-ion battery cathode material production line has a total investment of about 60 million yuan, invested and constructed by Hefei HiPo Technology Co., Ltd. The first phase has an annual output of 1000 tons, and the second phase plans to build an annual output of 50,000 tons, which can achieve an annual sales volume of 1.5 billion yuan.
This production line innovatively adopts a liquid-solid composite process to produce upgraded materials. Through flexible design, it can achieve convenient "man-machine" operation and fully automated production, while also having more than twice the capacity improvement space. It also has the ability to produce a variety of products such as high-energy and high-rate types; its battery performance and physicochemical indicators are at the leading level of the industry, filling the gap in the production of sodium-ion batteries in Hefei City.
At present, the company can produce two models of sodium-ion battery cathode materials, HP100-H and HP100-R, which correspond to different scenarios such as electric transportation and high-power discharge. The company is also developing solid-state sodium-ion batteries.
HiPo Technology is headquartered in Beijing, and the company was established in August 2022. The technical team is composed of doctors from Peking University, Tsinghua University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the University of Science and Technology of China. The company has dozens of patents, including nearly 20 invention patents, and was awarded the title of "High-tech Enterprise" by Zhongguancun in 2024. Currently, there are two technology R&D centers established nationwide. In August 2023, Hefei HiPo Technology Co., Ltd. was established in the Shushan Economic and Technological Development Zone.
With the proposal of the "dual zero-carbon" goal in China, the green and low-carbon transformation in the energy field continues to advance. In addition to being used in photovoltaic power generation and energy storage, green power matching and storage, and power grid peak regulation, sodium-ion batteries can also be widely used in many fields such as two-wheeled electric vehicles, sightseeing vehicles, cleaning vehicles, commercial and industrial energy storage cabinets, and emergency power supplies. Sodium-ion batteries are gradually entering all aspects of life and have formed an industrial scale of tens of billions, achieving significant economic and social benefits.
